An autoimmune disorder in which antibodies stimulate the thyroid gland to produce excess thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism), causing symptoms such as weight loss, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, tremor, and eye problems (Graves’ ophthalmopathy).
